Private Nursery School Scallywags
is a registered nursery school. The childcare that we provide is not
only caring but also of the highest quality.
We are inspected by Estyn appropriately every five years and the report is available under our inspection section. We now also offer free education for children the term after they are three on behalf of Wrexham Borough Council. Please contact us for qualifying conditions with regards to this education.
The
September after your child is three they can enter our private nursery
school, which has a qualified early years teacher and follows the
Foundation Phase three to seven years old which will link with your
child's school which they enter the September after they are
four. We have a great and varied curriculum in our nursery school
with regular trips out on our own bus and an indoor/outdoor play area
which is accessible all year round. We are proud of the
achievements of all our children.

There are many advantages of remaining in Scallywags for your child's
early education rather than the statutory sector.
1. The ratios are a maximum of 8 children to one, compared to 15
to 1.
2. The nursery school day becomes part of the nursery day so saves
you shuttling between your local school and Scallywags nursery.
3. The excellent highly qualified staff and teacher are very familiar
with your child already, and can provide a perfect balance between
your child's care and education which we feel is vital at such a
young age.
4. Scallywags provides an excellent nursery
education, ensuring children get a head start.
5. We have 'Fun French' activities once a week.
6. Our sessions in this unit are flexible and include 'school days'
as well as in the morning and afternoon sessions.
7. We also offer music and movement sessions once a week.
8. Trips are arranged on our bus about
once a week to fit in with the teachers topics. Your Child's Progress
Matters to Us
The nursery is committed to ensuring that each child progresses on
an individual basis to the best of their ability. To enable him/her
to be prepared for entry to school and the beginning of key stage
1.
Children are encouraged towards being independent by building on
and extending skills through a wide range of tasks and experience.
Parents are encouraged to participate in the whole curriculum. Shared
Reading Scheme
The nursery school has a shared reading scheme. Children will bring
a book home each week in their book bag, either to have read to them
or to start reading independently depending on their level of development.
All children progress at different rates; the curriculum provides
experiences and opportunities that will enable each child to achieve
their own maximum potential. More information about Scallywags nursery
school will be given to parents when their child is three,
or earlier if you ask a member of staff.
