Scallywags Day Nursery opened in September 1992. Initially as a small mixed age nursery for 24 children. In November 1994 a large extension to the building was built, allowing the children to be separated into age groups.

Then in April 2000 another extension was added enabling the children to enjoy activities appropriate to their age and level of development, the nursery was divided into three units, jelly babies (baby/toddler) 0-18months, jelly tots 18months-3 years and jelly beans (the nursery school) 3 plus and is now registered for 69 children, including 12 babies.

In February 1998 we were fully registered to provide education for three and four year olds by OHMCI following an excellent inspection, in 2000 we also registered as a nursery school with the local authority.

Our home is a beautiful, spacious purpose built nursery in it’s own grounds, in which there are separate units for baby/toddlers, preschool and nursery school. Despite being on the perimeter of the Industrial Estate, the site of the nursery is away from factories and is surrounded by hedges and trees and stands in its own grounds which include a large car park.

Each baby or child entering Scallywags is treated as an individual; based on the information you give us about your child. This will obviously change as your child develops and adapts to new challenges. Therefore his/her care is reviewed on a day to day basis. This care will always include lots of fun and love.

You and your family are the most important people in your child's life therefore your opinions and ideas about your child's welfare are a vital part of his her care.
